Maddy's Thanksgiving soccer tournament

I'm right on schedule for my semi-annual blog post. I'm not going to attempt to catch up on the past few months. One of these days I may feel the desire to do this more often.

Madeline is on a pretty good soccer team this year. They were placed in a weak division this year and won every game. Right now we are at a tournament in St. George, UT. They lost the first game to an older team but it looks like they'll win this one. Maddy plays keeper half of each game. She does well.

I love anxious, screaming coaches who don't know the game. I figure if you aren't familiar with the game/rules it's probably better to be a bit more quiet. Maybe.

Family Night at Ottavios

We had a great dinner with Dad, Robert's family, Marcus, Matt Allen and his daughter Riley. The Robert Conlees had just come back from boating and young Robert narrowly missed having a strap from the trailer gouge his eye.

San Diego Vacation

This is the inaugural blog post. I'm not going for anything fancy here to begin with. We'll grow into it.

We drove down to San Diego at the beginning of June for a family vacation. We had fun. Somehow we lucked out and booked a decent hotel in Las Vegas (Double Tree south of town) - Ok it wasn't luck. I spent an entire night reading reviews. But we avoided most of LV's nastiness.

We stayed at the Residence Inn in La Jolla. It was a great location because it was less than 10 minutes from Sea World, it avoided much of the traffic closer to downtown SD and got us close to the beaches in northern SD County. It was easy to get out to the SD Wild Animal Park and it was across I-5 from the LDS Temple.

We visited attractions in the morning and the beach every afternoon. I think the only photos we have of the beach were taken on my phone. I'll try to post them along with photos from Sea World, the SD Zoo and Wild Animal Park.
